A contemporary inner city home where function and form prevail.

This two level home maximises the use of space and budget with many clever design features.

With multiple spaces catering to a variety of living needs, this homes ensures all that enter will enjoy throughout the year.

Situated to the north of the site, with open plan living – northwest orientated with optimal indoor/ outdoor flow increased with wrap around decking . The home is surrounded by easy-care vegetation and versatile planter pots. The prominent deck provides extra set back to the living quarters for privacy and relief from the street-side of it’s intercity location.

A key feature to this home is the engineered timber second story floor and ceiling which has both visual and structural performance qualities.  A negative detail to these parallel laminated timber panels adds a touch of class to the raw timber ceiling finish. An intergrated timber screen features in the stair well which works to filter light through the entry and into connecting hallways on both level.

The exterior is constructed with standing seam metal cladding combined with a brick  finish to the ground floor. This was an intentional dramatic contrast to allow this contemporary home to shine among it’s inner city neighbours.
