Paying homage to vintage glamour of the Hamptons is this brand new home in the inner-city suburbs of New Plymouth.

On a large elevated site in the tightly held suburb of Strandon is this grand new family home.

This special home is unique within it’s well established suburb, and while being brand new, it exudes the rustic, vintage appeal of homes from America’s coveted Hamptons. The home is clad in a combination of linear weatherboard a timber tile. The home encompasses 5 bedrooms + separate office, play and music rooms and the footprint of home sits to the southern end of a large 1300m2 site. It is essentially formed by two wings – a living wing and a sleeping wing that are connected by a central formal entry and circulation route. The home has both formal and informal living areas that open onto the north and western landscaped terraces.

The cladding combined with the design’s large gables, extruded chimneys and large overhanging eves add to its vintage appeal. The home is built using modern construction techniques yet appears next to the surrounding homes as if it has been there since the suburbs inception.
