Ngāmotu House recognised among nation’s best developments

Ngāmotu House has been recognised as one of Aotearoa’s leading developments at the 2025 New Zealand Property Council Awards.

Celebrating excellence in property development, design, and investment, the prestigious New Zealand Property Council awards acknowledged Ngāmotu House with an Excellence award in the Heritage and Adaptive Reuses category, and Merit in the Commercial Office Property category—an outstanding achievement for a regional development given the calibre of projects submitted nationwide.

Ngāmotu House, developed by Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa was the only project from the New Plymouth region to be recognised on the night and the first for the region since 2023.

The awards honour developments that deliver exceptional economic returns, create long-term value, and uplift the communities they serve. Lead Architect Murali Bhaskar attended the awards evening and said “It is an absolute highlight for an iwi-led development to be recognised at these awards. Ngāmotu House is special in that it is a cultural hub for Māori business that has re-indigenised New Plymouth’s urban landscape and established a strong visual presence for iwi within New Plymouth’s central business district.”
